Docking is also a punishment inflicted by sailors on the prostitutes who have infected them with the venereal disease; it sonsists in cutting off all their clothes, petticoat, shift and all, close to their stays, and then turning them into the street.
WHORE'S CURSE. A piece of gold coin, value five shillings and threepence, frequently given to women of the town by such as professed always to give gold, and who before the introduction of those pieces always gave half a guinea.
